Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Syrphidae from Nepal

The specimen was found hovering/ circling a large rotten tree, then getting closer to the trunk and landing directly at a hole in the tree.
18.10.2025 - Nepal, 1.5km NE of Swanta village (~5km N of Ghorepani), Alt. 2450m, exposure NE, in dense suptropical forest.
I am not farmiliar with syrphids - but I would be interested, what this could be, as I really could not find anything similar.
