Hello,

a 4 mm midge at our housewall today (northwest Germany). It seems to me different from the usual Trichoceridae.

It looks like Bolitophila except it is missing a wing vein, with Rs apparently unforked.

Thanks a lot, John! Bolitophila was numerous here in mid November. That was seemingly a species a bit less delicate, but bigger (6-8 mm, see below).

Do you think, it is nevertheless Bolitophila despite of the missing vein? Unfortunately I have no pictures showing the venation better.
