Locaction: Midwest Sweden (Dalsland)
Date: 2006-JUL-07
Habitat: Found dead indoors
Sorry about the quality of theses photos. Is it possible to ID anyway? I have looked through my finnish hover fly book, but I haven't found this one. The photographs in that book is really poor. Checking Cyrille Dussaix nice site I think it might be
Pipiza, and perhaps
Pipiza festiva (female)!? What do you think?

In no way it's
festiva. Tarsae are too dark, for instance. Looks more like
lugubris to me. Clear marked spot on the wings, all light hairs..

Identifying Pipiza from pictures is a very unwise idea.
Having said this, and ignoring it, I'm with Andre
female Pipiza lugubris. Shape of antenna is 'characteristic'
(please do note the '').
