Seen 18. June 2025, path next to river Saale near Rothenburg/Germany. 10-12mm Did I see Physocephala vittata? Thank you for your help, Jörg

Hi Joerg, I think it it's quite likely
P. vittata. But I'm not sure, as I've never seen that species and I don't have any data to
Physiocephala except J.T. Smit's "Veldtabel blaaskopvliegen".

Thank you for this one as well. Actually I do not find a lot about this species in the www. I wander whether anybody is doing a revission of this family - I just try to work out Sicus cf. ferrugineus currently regularly seen in our garden.
