Hello,
I am very interested in Dolichopodidae and I often photograph them at the edge of bodies of water. For this one, little and thin, found at the edge of a large pond in Villeneuve d'Ascq (Nord, France) on May 30, 2025, I cannot define its genus.
Can you give me your opinion. Thank you in advance.
Dominique

I'm coming back, Igor, because, based on your identification of the genus which makes new research possible, could it be a male of the common species Sympycnus pulicarius or are there not enough visible criteria to consider a species ?
Thank you in advance,
Dominique
