Hello,

I've been trying to understand how to seperate one from the other but I have troubles reading chetotaxy of this Empis, could you help me please ? What about the differrence(s) of both genitalia, does that can help to make the difference between this two species ?

This looks like a fine male Empis punctata to me. Genitals and chetotxy are as expected for this species. The absence of a supra-alar bristle (just above the wings) excludes E. trigramma
