Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Which Bumble Bee ???

I made this pic August 13th 2007 in Belgium.
I think its a (Bombus magnus) but im missing the white behind.
It was a really big one.. I heard it comming fly and landed on this flowers.
Can someone tell me if I'm right with the name ?
I hope I posted this one in the right group.

looks like the British form of queen Bombus terrestris, i understand Continental terrestris have white tip to abdomen and if this in invariable then perhaps this is a visitor from GB?

I found this bumble bee near by Tongeren area "De Kevie"
50.46 N - 5.28 E

Hello,

If it is in Tongres, then it is not truth "audax" (the ssp. of England)

From time to time, on the continent, one finds specimens "audax" with the russet-red abdominal end instead of white. It is true in Morocco, for example!
