Stomorhina lunata has become very common bellow 50°N and scarce but not absent above. Litterature mentions it lays eggs on eggs of locusts (south african brown locust, migratory locust and desert locust) in Africa.
As it leaves around 30 days, it's migration to Europe would be hard to understand if not dedicated to reproduce north of mediteranean sea. Nevertheless, it's seems impossible to find any litterature about Stomorhina lunata reproduction in Europe. Woud someone have sources about this topic ?
Many thanks !
Greg

Hi Greg, what I know about Stomorhina lunata (which is quite common here in Northern Bavaria) comes from these sources:
Olga Sivell (2021): Blow flies
Knut Rognes (1991): Blowflies (Diptera, Calliphoridae) of Fennoscandia and Denmark

But this paper could support you in studying the biology of Stomorhina lunata:
D. J. GREATHEAD (2009): The biology of Stomorhina lunata (Fabricius) (Diptera: Calliphoridae)
DOI:10.1111/j.1469-7998.1962.tb01826.x

Thanks a lot Eklans !
I knew about Greathead, which is in fact from 1962 but often referenced as from 2009 or even later.
to be continued !
