Hello,
This Chloropidae was photographed in Plaine du Roussilon (Pyrénées-Orientales, France) on February 22, 2025, altitude 70 m.
It has the following characteristics:
- costal vein barely extending beyond r4+5 --> subfamily Chloropinae
- femurs 3 not thickened, ocellar triangle not elongated and bare, forehead not prominent --> genus Thaumatomyia
- black spot of the occiput not reaching the eyes, narrow genes --> Thaumatomyia notata
In addition, it has a flat scutellum and crossed apical scutellar setae.
Is it possible to confirm Thaumatomyia notata?
