Hello!
I have heard two different versions about the hibernation of the syrphid
Scaeva pyrastri:
1.
Scaeva pyrastri hibernates as fertilized female.
2.
Scaeva pyrastri hibernates as larva in wood rot and pupates in early April.
What version is the correct one or are both possible?
In version 1, where does the fertilized female hibernate to be protected from the cold?
Thank you for your answers, Freddy...
