Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Soldier Fly fromLa Mancha, Spain for ID.

I saw this Soldier Fly in La Mancha , Spain in May 2024 .Can anyone help with an ID please? The nearest i can find is --Odontomyia annulata .

I think it should be Odontomyia ornata

Thank you Paul .
It was quite brightly marked Yellow a Black with a striped Thorax , not really like the images of O. ornata that i have seen .Perhaps it is a variable species .

Annulata is my first thought as well, but pictures are too small for me to be sure.

I have tried to put in a cropped image ,but it keeps appearing as the original I will keep trying , hopefully it will be easier to ID..At last.

It should be female annulata, but I cannot establish the crucial features....
