Hello,
this little male fly (2,1 mm.) was found in the garden (05 05 2024) on Cistus salviaefolius.
Locality : Luçon 85400,near La Rochelle.West of France.

Drosophilidae was suggested , Scaptomyza, perhaps ?
Is it possible to get species ?

I can take photos of the genitalia if you need

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Regards.

Christian

Not a drosophilid, perhaps Ephydridae. Is the anal vein developed or not?

Probably subfamily Hydrellinae.

No, the anal vein is not developed.

Is it possible to go further with this picture ?

Best regards.
