under dead wood near conifers

There are only two genera on the Icelandic list ( Triphleba and Megaselia ).
This appears to be the former given comparison to gallery images.

Then there is only one species of Triphleba listed on the Icelandic list :
T.renidens

Does this appear correct for this genus/ species or not possible to say from photos?

I can confirm Triphbleba but confirming renidens is not as straightforward. Though most visible characters are consistent with renidens, some of these also apply to other species. The picture of the genitalia is, at least partly due to the entirely dark colour, not conclusive either. It rather reminds me of T. trinervis and does not seem to fit the illustration in 'Die Fliegen'. I hope you collected the specimen...?

Hi Paul, I collected one now, but it's a female I believe - is it possible to take females to species? and if so are there any particular details needed to confirm?
