Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Parasyrphus nigritarsis???

Hello,

Here is a couple of fly from the Syrphidae family... She looks like Parasyrphus nigritarsis but I'm not so confident for I found the abdomen a little too broad...

Any idea / suggestion???

(Pictures took last August in Sherbrooke, Quebec (near Vermont)...)

it looks more like Syrphus vitripennis/ribesii (the female looks like a S. vitripennis, at least ribesii is not for sure).
