Hello subforum,
for the first time I post a question directly to a subforum. This is because I feel sure that the attached picture shows a species of the syrphidae family.
And: another member of diptera.info encouraged me to do so.
The photo below I took on June 23rd 2007 in an an (aritificial) alder marshland in Hagen (Germany) - 175 meters above see level. The fly was on a leaf of of
Petasites hybridus.
