Is it possible to identify this fly by such foto? Found near mountain river in May. Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains.

Penthetria funebris looks okay, but it is actually (as far as I know) a member of the family Bibionidae and not Pediciidae.

It seems to be that way Jan Willem, even BugGuide have it under Bibionidae. Time for Paul to do a bit of updating in the Gallery ;)
