Dioctria hyalipennis with her prey ?
Is it also possible to ID the prey : seems she has long antennas...
Thx in advance :)

Please post Asilid threads in the Asilidae forum. This is a Dioctria, I leave the species to the experts. The prey is a a Braconid or Ichenumonid wasp.

Thx Jorge and Xespok for the ID :)

@Xespok : sorry, I didn't care. It will not happen any more...:(

My guess is Dioctria baumhaueri - front & mid femora seem too dark for hyalipennis :)

Thanks Chris :)
I though have a doubt : are not now D. hyalipennis and baumhaueri synonyms ? I think I've read something like that from Nikita or Paul...

That's possible - I am going by Drake & Stubbs and they make the distinction but do mention there needs to be some work to discover whether they are one or two species :)
