I forgot to note date and locality:
Today (29. Oct. 2021) in my garden in Alfter-Witterschlick near Bonn, Germany.

Hi Günter, that was my question. It looks exactly like rostrata (mainly red legs, thorax bluegrey...) but this seems to be a spring species. Only campestris should be in the air in October. Do you have a shrper view of the arista?

There's a second generation - peak September - until October. So I'm quite sure it is rostrata. (The new foto hasn't arrived yet)

Yes, looks like the arista is bare (rostrata)!

Leg colour, lack of black margins of abdomen, and blueish grey thorax led me to rostrata too. Some keys depend on ratio of snout length to eye diameter, but this depends on angle of view and seems not reliable at all. But I didn't know about the phenology - so thanks for your expertise!

Perhaps you should edit the title bar in accordance with ID.
