Hello,
I photographed these flies in the Torre del Cerrano Marine Protected Area (TE), Italy on March 28th 2021. I think they are Ephydridae, but is it possible to identify their genus or species from these photos?
Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

Thank you John! What are the differences between these two genera?

According to comments here, one difference is the position of the posterior notopleural bristle. The first photo shows it well above the anterior notopleural bristle, suggesting
Hecamede.
