Are you sure about that Gunnar????????? Grin

According to wikipedia, the largest tipulids can get 64 mm long. I haven't found any primary source for this, but 64 is higher than 60.
jorgemotalmeida 16 March 2012 14:38:23
"The flies range from 9–60 mm in body length and the Neotropical species Gauromydas heros (Perty, 1833; Mydidae: Mydinae) is believed to be the largest known Diptera."
jorgemotalmeida 16 March 2012 14:37:36
Gauromydas heros is supposed to be the largest dipteran so far. Check tinyurl.com/85jvjze and here --> mydidae.tdvia.de.

What's the limit on main forum posts? Or do I just keep crashing it?
Will van Niekerk 15 March 2012 13:03:34
I seem to recall reading that tropical species of Mydidae are the largest of all flies... so probably not that.
Tony Irwin 15 March 2012 11:28:37

Perhaps open the image in a file editor, 'save as' under the same name and try again. Often helps to cure resource fork problems in the image.
Gordon 09 March 2012 05:55:55
Changing file name got the 2nd image to load but the first image is still refusing, second file name is the same but with an 'a' at the end.
Gordon 09 March 2012 05:46:19
Second image is 188 kb, still no image ???

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
