I think Roger is suggesting that the flies are dead, and that the ashes or salt are simply producing an inanimate reaction in the dead tissues, causing the legs to move.

How?.Take some white ashes and put the dead fly in it… keep on blotting inthe ashes and covering and un covering it for 5mins or more . It is sosurprising that you will start to see some movements of
