date: 30 March 2021; location: in Hamburg, Germany, south-eastern part on a dike of the river Elbe; in the sun at about 24°C;
on a Cirsium sp. an egg-laying female of Cheilosia grossa?

Yes, with dark antennae it must belong to C. grossa. Ovipositing on thistles, it appears.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
