Keyed to Neodexiopsis using the Manual of the Nearctic Diptera muscid key; to the N. ovata group using Huckett's 1934 key to this genus; and to N. ovata using Snyder's 1958 review of this species group. I think that's the right ID but would appreciate some expert input. Thanks in advance Regards Steve   infuscation of the fore femur is incomplete and appears consistent with Snyder's description (couplet 8 and page 22) as seen in the head-on image        ventral view of 5th sternite. similar, but not identical to, Huckett's figure 34 (plate VII). Snyder doesn't provide diagrams of the 5th sternite in his N. ovata group review  posterior view of left hind femur. compare to MND muscid chapter figure 43  dorsal view of right hind tibia. anterior towards the top of the image Edited by Steve Scholnick on 09-10-2022 22:15 |
