 Black glossy syrphid from Uruguay, bright red eyes

Colonia del Sacramento, Colonia, Uruguay. Date 4 December 2019. In a flower garden beside a pond near Rio de la Plata and just opposite Buenos Aires. I had this in the larger Adult Diptera forum. Thanks to Nikita V. who provided the family and to Waldgeist who said "Volucellini I think, something close to Copestylum."
