Hello all, Seeking confirmation that this is indeed Neotanypeza sp. and maybe some extra information about it. Anyone knows a good source with keys to differentiate the 23 species from this genus? Pictures taken in South Brazil Thanks in advance. |

Thank you Ectemnius, that's a very good material Unfortunately I don't think I can reach a conclusive ID of the species based on my poor quality pics, oh well... |

A useful paper is Lonsdale, O. (2013). Review of the Families A Tanypezidae and Strongylophthalmyiidae with a Revision of Neotanypeza Hendel (Diptera: SchosophorA. Smithsonian Contributions to Zoology, (641). Retrieved from http://citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.800.4846&rep=rep1&type=pdf There's also some stuff in the book Marshall, S. A. (2012). Flies: The Natural History and Diversity of Diptera. Buffalo, NY: Firefly Books. Darwyn Edited by Darwyn Sumner on 25-08-2020 10:13 |
