I photographed this Asilidae on July 12, 2020 on a Vitis sp .. in Val Vermenagna (Cuneo), 800m, Maritime Alps, Northwestern Italy. I think it could be Choerades marginata. Can anyone confirm (or not) this identification? Thanks in advance Baudino Bruno attached the following image: [171.52Kb] |

No, this is not C. marginata which is less dense haired. This could be C. fimbriata or fulva.

It looks as if the second tergite has yellow hair on the hind margin that would mean that most probable is C. fimbriata.
