Hi,

I have photographed this very small beetle on autumn crocus (Colchicum montanum) in Asturias (Spain) last August.
Habitat : meadow 1400m asl.
I'm not sure it's a weevil.
Any idea of its identity?
Very small : about 3mm.

Cheers,

FRV

It belongs to the seed beetles (Bruchinae), a subfamily of Chrysomelidae, formerly a family of its own. This is a very tricky group, so I do not dare to say more, sorry!
Regards, Sundew

Bruchinae - Chrysomelidae, but very hard to identify the group as Sundew mentioned. They can be seen in various locatins in Spain. I had a chance to take a lot of photos of them during my trip in Spain when I was looking for a property for sale in Spain. They are really lovely creatures.

Yes ... after having seen some pics on internet, I thought it could be Bruchius.
