Basodorsal stylus (arista), 6 dc, short hind basitarsus, dorsal serration on fore tibia vote for Sympycnus. Bulging face, yellow legs with black apex of hind femur are charecteristic of the species in the Mediterraneans:

Sympycnus simplicipes Becker, 1908 [F 1918]: Mitt.zool.Mus.Berlin 4: 46 ** Type locality: Spain: Canary Is., Teneriffe. Palaearctic: Abkhazia; Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece incl. Crete; Iraq; Israel; Italy; N Kazakhstan; Korea; S Russia: Adygea, Krasnodar; Spain incl. Canary Is. *
