Hello !

For having already published a subject on a specimen of this very characteristic family, I immediately thought of Hippoboscidae.

While searching in gallery of insect.org, I came across twin photos of mine, taken in Paris too, and in October, but 4 years earlier. In the subject that bears them, we evoke Pseudolynchia canariensis which
"has a clear longitudinal "streak" on the thorax"
what my specimen to clearly.

The body (excluding the head) is really short compared to the 8-O wings (see picture in medallion on the assembly).

So ?

Bobabar, near Paris, France

Thank you very much Theo !

A trace of more global warming?

NB: This morning, 100 m further down the same street, I just captured another specimen. Smile

Hello Theo!

Sorry, the captured specimen is promised at the National Museum of Natural History (MNHN, Paris), to confirm your diagnosis.

I promise you that if I capture another one, it's yours! Smile

The second specimen found and captured (not the one pictured here) was identified by André Nel of MNHN (National Museum of Natural History, Paris, France) as Pseudolynchia canariensis.

According to him, the species was already noted in France, in the South. He kept the specimen as a trace of presence in Paris (France).

I will add the photo in another subject, with a link between these two subjects.

Best regards,
Bobabar
