Thanks to Kahis for the genus determination! Can be identified, or ar least guessed, to species level? last Sunday, Sabi?anigo, Huesca, Aragon, Spain. Pre-Pyrenees, mountain mediterranean climate. Habitat: river with very slow or quiet water, many algae, contaminated, very low level. Size: about 40-45 mm long. Edited by Isidro on 18-09-2007 16:58 |

I looked in Google and you are rigt! Eristalis is very different! |

Eristalis would not have an apparent segmentation.
