I know nothing about Syrphidae, but when i look for Ornidia obesa, iT certainly looks like itSmile

It was my hope, that fly should be common.
Now, let us wait for experts: is it O. obesa or there are other possibilities on species level.

According to my friend Gerard Pennards it is indeed O. obesa.
