Was photographing another insect on my deck when this guy flew in giving me enough time for a couple of quick shots before it disappeared.
Guessing size at about 11mm

Well, this looks very much like a Sarcophigidae Sarcophaginae.
Even in the New World....

Thanks Theo and Jorge, I was fooled by the large setae on its rear end. I believe this is my 1st Sarcophagidae

Smile We have lots of Sarcophagidae! Usullay they like to be on bridges! Frown I have seen lots of sarcophagid flies there. awkward
