I've recently become interested in galling wasps, flies, and their parasites, and I'm trying to find information on Dasineura (formerly Dasyneura) lupini, specifically relative to identification. I've found several publications mentioning the species, but only on ecological questions.

The species was described by Ephraim Felt in 1916, and I'm unable to find the original description. Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of the species description, keys for Dasineura which would include this species, or a dipterist who is generally knowledgeable about its genus?

Update: I'd been looking for several weeks for the original description, and the day I inquire on this forum, I find it.

For anyone interested:
Felt EP (1916) New North American gall midges (Dipt.). Entomol News 27(8): 412-417.

I'm not able to find specimens in digitized collections, and would appreciate it if anyone has a suggestion for where I should begin searching. I'd still greatly appreciate a point of contact for Dasineura.

As far as I know only five people in the world work on American Cecidomyiidae. Raymond Gagné at USDA is retired but still does some work.

Species of Cecidomyiidae are often unidentifiable without their galls.

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
