Hello! There seem to be some bristles, but enough for a tachinid? The top cell seems closed, but I am not sure. What kind (species? genus? family?) of fly is this? (Photo July, near Kyoto, size about 7-8mm) Thanks, Michael Michael Becker attached the following image: ![]() [52.04Kb] |

This is a TAchinid. By great luck, we can even see which tribe: note the scissorlike appendices at the top of abdomen, typical for Leucostomatini (Phasiinae) Theo |
