I found it today in a wood on Valeriana officinalis near Lake Thun 560m Switzerland
with regards Maja

Not Culiseta but Ochlerotatus, I think. Also this is a female, judging from the antennae - the male antennae are much more plumose (bushy). Females take nectar as well as blood - they need the sugar for energy to fly.
