I think this is the final instar of Oplodontha viridula for it seems as if there is a hairbrush at the ventral side of the head and the habitus and hairs on the body doesn't fit Odontomyia or Stratiomys.

I just came across a species account of O. viridula in an old field guide (1998) for flies, which says the length of the larvae would measure 14 to 17 mm - but mine was twice as long, 30 mm. Now what is to say about that? Just an outdated information or is this probably not O. viridula but some other stratiomyid? |

You're right. Size matters. 30 mm is o.k. for Odontomyia ornata |
