Hello!

Besides sitting on a leaf this wasp of about 30 mm length (without ovipositor) was mainly examinating pine trunks laying there in the forest yesterday (Ostwestfalen/Germany). Does it belong to genus Rhyssa? Thanks in advance!

Yes, Rhyssa for sure, Rhyssa persuasorioa as a guess.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
