Hi Thomas, appearance/habitus let me think of being a Xylocopa sp. When searching for "Xylopa+uruguay", X. augusti shows up and might be a candidate. But I don't know the South-American fauna at all, so it's just a guess! (The assocation with wood would also support being a Xylocopa.) Best regards, Marc |
