 Is this that species. Urban grassland, Swindon, Wilts, England.

 Yes, it is the species.
The yellow face with the big black stripe on the face and the distinctive long stigma for Dasysyrphus and the white stipes and abdomen markings for D. albostriatus.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
