Hi,

photographed this large robberfly (+15 mm).
the prey is an male of Erythromma viridulum. so here the dragon is not the last in the chain Smile

photo taken in south west of Romania close to Drobeta Turnu Severin town in 18.july.2007

It's Philonicus albiceps, females have acanthophorites (spines at the tip of the ovipositor). Please add your images to Wikipedia: http://commons.wi...y:Asilidae - Thanks
