Please, forgive my ignorance, for I don't even know wheter this belongs to Diptera or not... It was photographed in Girona, in Catalonia yesterday by Albert Ruh?, a friend of mine. If anyone can give me clue, I'll be grateful. Aleix Comas ![]() Edited by aleix on 26-09-2005 14:48 |

No Diptera. It is a caddisfly, order Trichoptera. Let's see if anyone can come up with a name for this one. ![]() Paul - - - - Paul Beuk on https://diptera.info |

Thanks very much, I was completely lost with that one. I know it doesn't look good for a Diptera but I thought the eyes were a quite fly-like... A bizarre looking insect, quite different from the Trichoptera I know! Aleix Comas |

I don't know if there's anyone interested, but I think I finally came up with the id of this strange creature. It is indeed a Trichoptera (thanks for the clue, Paul), family Leptoceridae and species Mystacides azurea Cheers, Aleix |
