Don't know which one, but I cannot image this is Leptarthrus. I think the abomen then would be relatively shorter and broader.

It's a species of the gneus Stilpnogaster (tergites without tomentum). Please add you images to Wikipedia: http://commons.wi...y:Asilidae

Hi

i will chenge the title according to this new information.
now in the base of this information i consulted the romanian monography for this group.
on this genus just one species (with one subspecies).
Stilpnogaster aemula setiventris (characteristic for the subspecies is: pilosity more abundant on the abdomen and the red colour from the tarses and tibia is wider).
also the wing ilustration that is presented in the book is identical with the one from the book.
the rest of the characters looks identical, also there one data about distribution is more or less in the same area.

so is possible to be this species: S.aemula (Meig, 1820)?

thanks for the help,
cosmln

The genus needs revision. Stilpnogaster cf. aemula should be used. Yours

I can no longer send private messages (and maybe not receive?), even though my inbox and outbox are not yet full. I write, click "send" and they disappear and never show up in the outbox.
