A very hairy little fly with the looks of Lonchaeidae, but the wings don't seem to fit.

Hi Pilu, Didn't see that one coming!!! So, Wednesday, instead of 2 new genera of Syrphidae, I have 3. And just in a couple of minutes, and on the same flower. Muchísimas gracias! Edited by Andre Burgers on 09-04-2016 08:23 errare humanum est sed perseverare diabolicum |

Yes, that is a male Psilota. Recently, several new species have been described (see Smit & Zeegers and Smit & Vujic), so it will be very challenging to get an ID on this male. Get Psilota in the title and wait for John Smit (or send him an email !). Theo |

I will leave the title in "Psilota sp." and if there is no answer today, tomorrow I will send John an e-mail. Bedankt, Theo!!! errare humanum est sed perseverare diabolicum |
