 Chrysotoxum cf cisalpinum?

I saw it yesterday on a Raphanus plant, I have seen the gallery and this is the species that more seems to this specimen. In Southern Spain, north of Huelva province, near a little river. I upload 4 Images Paco Moreno attached the following image:  [134.55Kb] |

Paco, this is, fortunately, one of typical morphotypes of Chrysotoxum intermedium. Chrysotoxum in Spain is very tricky to ID from pictures and many specimens cannot be satisfactoryly determined. However, C. cisalpinum has a slightly different face pattern and (usually) a peculiar orangy colour in marginal sides of tergites. But above all, it cannot be expected to be flying as early as March.
