first of all, i'm not a robber fly specialist, not at all... but this seems a Dioctria species to me, maybe Dioctria hyalipennis but as far as my experience goes you need a good view on the lateral side of the thorax for determination to species level ( http://www.geller...octria.htm) but maybe persons with more experience can determine this one on jizz... caliprobola is right, a view from the side is often better to identify robberflies, especially Dioctria species. I guess, yours is D. cothurnata, but I'm not certain. Greetings, Danny Wolff |
