I would say an unusual tachinid. Tachinidae.

I agree, it looks like a tachinid to me too Smile Jim O'Hara would be able to give you a pretty close name for any nearctic tachs - I can give you his email if you can't find him in Google.

Thanks guys. Did some searching and came up with Genea sp. a parasitoid of small moths.
