Hi!

Does anyone has an idea what Robberfly this could be?

Found in South Africa (Pretoria) at a rocky slope with scattered vegetation (Febr. 2006)

Hello Eckart,
The species is called Hyperechia marshalli, the Carpenter Bee robber fly! Cool
They feed on Carpenter bees and other bees and wasps!
