9 June 2007 New Brunswick Canada. Length 7mm.
Looks as though the 2nd antennal segment (pedicel) is swollen, and palps are very hairy on ventral surface
Was Anthomyiidae?

Thanks Nikita; I'm impressed with your knowledge.
Never seen this genus before, the common Rhagionid here is a spotted-winged Rhagio sp. but have not seen any yet this year.

same locality but date 13 June 2007. Possibly same species.
