Hello! Found today on a Leucanthemum in our courtyard (Ostwestfalen/Germany). Length about 8-10 mm. Is it M. rufiventris? Thanks! Hello, Chris! Chris Raper wrote: Yes Many thanks! :-) It's only the second time I've seen that species here. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Well, that's better than I ever managed - I have never seen one in England myself but they are caught fairly regularly and they are present in most collections. Quite easy to confuse with Eriothrix rufomaculata if you can't see the laterally compressed abdomen. But Mintho has those 2 clear black bars on the anterior part of the thorax - Eriothrix has many more. |

Additionally to the different body shape I find it is much more red in colouration.
