 Pacific Coast Fly. Family?

It looks like Scathophagidae, maybe Cordilura? |

Yes, Micropezidae. If you have a good lateral view, we might be able to place it in genus.

Chen, Paul, Tony, Thanks very much for your help with this one. It was a nice-looking fly and I was excited to photograph it before it flew off, and excited now to have an ID for it.
